News Details (Posted: November 10, 2005):

Not all neighborhoods are treated equal

Full Description:

I am a resident of NE 16th Street. I purchased my home 1 year ago and paid more for it than the residents in the Sahallee neighborhood did 5 years ago. For some reason my street keeps being neglected. Neglected meaning the City gave the streets new tar everywhere in our neighborhood, but then decided to stop at NE 16th. Also, I see street cleaners all the time around my neighborhood cleaning up debris and leaves. But they never clean NE 16th Street. I am constantly cleaning trash from the street from the few who use the street as a trash can. Also, in the summer the areas where no one ownes the property also gets neglected. The grass and weeds never get cut and is never manicured from the City. I see all the neighborhoods on City propery very well taken care of. I would like some answers as to why our neighborhood is being treated like poverty level property.
